About Me
Over the years, many people have come to know me as the artist behind the Beacon House illustrations and free therapeutic resources. My artwork has helped bring complex ideas about trauma, attachment, neurodivergence and healing to life through imagery that feels accessible and deeply human.
I am also the creator of the much-loved Inner World Work resources, which are used by families, professionals and therapeutic practitioners around the world. Originally created in response to my own children's experiences, these resources help make children's inner experiences more visible and easier to understand. Download them here.
More recently, I have had the privilege of illustrating Healing Developmental Trauma in Families and Systems, written by my friend and the founder of Beacon House, Dr Shoshanah Lyons. Through visual storytelling, I helped translate complex concepts into illustrations that support readers to connect with the book's ideas in a meaningful way. Find out more about the book here.
My professional training is in surface design, creating patterns for wallpapers, fabrics and interiors. However, early on in my creative career I discovered that I couldn't simply draw something because it looked beautiful. I needed to know why it mattered. I was far more interested in the story behind the image than the image itself.
I found myself searching for the memories, relationships, hopes and experiences that sit beneath the surface. The places deep within us that are often hard to explain and even harder to put into words. As you can imagine, this wasn't especially helpful when designing wallpaper!
What I eventually realised was that my passion wasn't creating patterns, it was helping people tell their stories. I believe that every one of us carries visual stories within our body, heart and mind, and it is an honour to create those stories for others.
