The Creative Journey
How a Bespoke Illustration Is Created
1. Share Your Story
Every commission begins with a conversation either by text, email or calls. You don’t need to come with a clear idea of what you want. Some people bring a letter, a collection of memories, photographs or a significant life experience. Others simply know they want to honour someone, celebrate a relationship or preserve a story that matters. Together, we explore what feels important and begin to uncover the heart of the story. At this stage we may decide not to work together and that is ok, it has to be right for both of us.
2. Shaping the Concept
I take what emerges from our conversation and begin developing visual ideas, symbols and imagery. We work together to refine the concept, ensuring the final illustration captures the warmth, meaning and essence of what you want to express.
3. Creating the Artwork
Once the concept is agreed, I begin creating your bespoke illustration. Most commissions take between six and eight weeks, depending on the scale and complexity of the piece. I send you the final proof of the illustration for your final sign off.
4. Receiving Your Artwork
Your artwork is professionally printed and carefully packaged before being delivered to you. Each piece is designed to become a lasting reminder of a story, relationship or moment that deserves to be remembered.
