Healing Developmental Trauma in Families and Systems
A Visual Toolkit for Professionals

Written by Dr Shoshanah Lyons
Illustrated by Helen Townsend

There's a saying that everyone has a book in them, but I never believed that applied to me. I tend to rush through words, both in reading and writing, and I was fairly certain I would never have the patience to create a book. Then Shosh asked if I would like to collaborate with her on a book about healing developmental trauma, and the biggest, messiest, most immersive creative adventure began.

Like all of my work with Beacon House and the Inner World Work resources, I am passionate about making information accessible and putting it into the hands of the people who need it most. I believe that understanding should never be reserved for a privileged few or hidden behind complicated language.

I am incredibly proud to have played a part in bringing this book to life and to have helped make its ideas more accessible through illustration and visual storytelling.

Due to be released in Spring 2027
